This lecture will discuss some practical applications of the ancient Chinese Classic of Yi Jing (or Zhouyi). It will address how ancient Chinese philosophical ideas about the movements of qi in the landscape developed and gave rise to the technology of Fengshui (lit., Wind and Water, a.k.a. Chinese Geomancy). The talk will also introduce the technique of using the eight trigrams of the Yi Jing to calculate and divine the future. Fengshui and its influence upon contemporary life in China will also be discussed.
